Supporter Care Ambassador

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to be an effective and compelling Supporter Care Ambassador for Cornwall Hospice Care, engaging with our supporters to ensure that every one of them feels valued and receives an excellent standard of customer care to generate the maximum amount of income for our charity. Our ideal candidate is a proactive, people focussed individual with excellent communication and data management skills.

The role

You will be leading the Supporter Care team who are responsible for handling supporter enquiries, processing donations and thanking supporters. With previous experience of providing excellent customer service, you will have the ability and confidence to communicate with a wide variety of people, engaging with supporters by phone, email and in writing about a wide range of enquiries.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Manage the Raiser’s Edge CRM database and develop expert knowledge to ensure the integrity and maintain security of the data.
  • Preparing reports, reviews and undertake analysis to support fundraising and engagement activities.
  • Answering inbound telephone calls, responding to a wide range of enquiries including marketing campaigns, donations, fundraising events and requests for materials.
  • Champion high quality supporter care, ensuring that all supporters and members of the public have an excellent experience when contacting our charity.
  • Processing donations and sending appropriate acknowledgement to donors.
  • Managing the team of paid staff and volunteers. 

About us

Cornwall Hospice Care is a 24/7 Cornish healthcare charity that provides end of life support for people with terminal illnesses. Our clinical staff and volunteers care for patients and their families, carers and friends at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell, St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle, through our Community Services and where appropriate, in people’s own homes and in local care homes.

Our staff and volunteers are at the heart of everything we do and they make our charity tick. We have 275 full and part time staff and 1500 volunteers and everyone brings skills to meet the wide variety of roles we have. We are all ambassadors in the community too, spreading the word about the end of life care we provide, that is 100% free to our patients and funded by our Cornish community. 

What we’d like

Our ideal Supporter Care Ambassador will have the following knowledge, skills, experience and qualities. We all have difference experiences, so we don’t expect all candidates to meet every requirement. If you have a few gaps and a plan on how you would address them, we would love to hear from you.

  • Experience of providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability and confidence to communicate with a wide variety of people.
  • Proven experience in Data Management and proficiency with digital platforms; particularly Excel.
  • Working experience of a fundraising CRM; e.g. Raiser’s Edge.
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your own and your team’s workload.
  • Outgoing, enthusiastic and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Experience of managing a team; preferably of both paid staff and volunteers.

£28,528.50
